Hawks Players To Particiate In Movember

Theodore Roosevelt. Burt Reynolds. Ned Flanders. Many great men in history have sported moustaches, and for the month of November, Portland Winterhawks players will join those lofty ranks as they take part in Movember – the annual event where men grow moustaches for a month to raise funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

Whether it’s a handlebar, fu manchu or Dali, Winterhawks players will be growing out their facial follicles through the month of Movember, and are encouraging fans to do the same.

Fans can visit http://mobro.co/winterhawks, to donate to the cause. We will be posting photos of the players before, during and after Movember to track their progress. In addition to helping a great cause, fans who donate could win tickets to Winterhawks games by correctly picking which player will grow the best moustache.

“A moustache is a distinguished fashion statement at any time of year, but it takes on even greater significance in Movember,” said Portland Winterhawks President Doug Piper. “Not only will our players look fantastic, but they’ll be doing so for a great cause.”

Five-game ticket plans are now available and start at just $60 per person and include five free gifts. Group rates start at 10 people ($16.50 per person) and every ticket includes a free Winterhawks hat. Call 503-236-HAWK or e-mail seats@winterhawks.com today to guarantee the best locations.

Hoo-yah! Things are looking pretty darn good this pre-season... can't wait to see how it works out for real.
