Hawks Trade Cam Lanigan to Medicine Hat

The Portland Winterhawks have traded 20-year-old goaltender Cam Lanigan to the Medicine Hat Tigers in exchange for a 2013 WHL Bantam Draft pick.

Lanigan played three games for the Winterhawks this season and went 3-0 with one shutout, a goals against average of 1.00 and 96.0% save percentage. In 116 career games with Portland, Kamloops and Edmonton, Lanigan is 35-48-2-5 with a goals against average of 3.90 and 87.7% save percentage.

“Cam was an excellent addition for us and right from training camp he proved that he’s a very good leader, and on the ice his record showed that he’s more than capable of being a starting goaltender in this league,” said Winterhawks General Manager & Head Coach Mike Johnston.

The move leaves the Winterhawks with the league maximum three 20-year-old players: Mac Carruth, Taylor Peters and Troy Rutkowski.

Season tickets and 20-, 12- and 6-game ticket packages for the 2012-13 season are on sale now. Visit winterhawks.com or call 503-236-HAWK to reserve the best seat locations.

Thank you Cam. Your time here was too short. Here's wishing you great success in your future.

Best of luck, Cam. Loved taunting you last year in the playoffs and loved having you between the pipes for us this season. Cheers.

So sad to see him go, but rules are rules, and I know he will do very well for his new team.

Hoo-yah! Things are looking pretty darn good this pre-season... can't wait to see how it works out for real.
