Winterhawks Acquire Charles Wells

The Portland Winterhawks have acquired 20-year-old center Charles Wells from the Prince Albert Raiders in exchange for a fourth round pick in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.

Wells split last season between the Raiders and Seattle Thunderbirds, registering 12 goals and 24 assists for 36 points in 63 games with the two teams. He’s played in 234 career games and posted 41 goals and 72 assists for 113 points, and added one goal and four assists for five points in 11 career playoff games.

“Charles is an experienced, versatile player who will bring terrific speed to our forward group,” said Portland Winterhawks General Manager & Head Coach Mike Johnston. “He’s also a high-character player who will fit in well in our locker room.”

Five-game ticket plans are now available and start at just $60 per person and include five free gifts. Group rates start at 10 people ($16.50 per person) and every ticket includes a free Winterhawks hat. Call 503-236-HAWK or e-mail seats@winterhawks.com today to guarantee the best locations. Opening night is Friday at 7 p.m. in the Rose Garden.
