Winterhawks Sign Jarrod Schamerhorn

The Portland Winterhawks have announced the signing of goaltender Jarrod Schamerhorn, who spent this past season with the British Columbia Major Midget League’s Kootenay Ice (not affiliated with the WHL team the Winterhawks are currently playing in the WHL Finals).

Schamerhorn was invited to the Winterhawks’ training camp this past summer, and was added to the team’s protected list after a strong showing in camp. He has also spent several years working with Winterhawks goaltending coach Tyler Love.

“Jarrod is a highly-regarded young goaltending prospect, and we’re excited that he’s chosen to sign with us,” said Portland Winterhawks General Manager & Head Coach Mike Johnston. “With Jarrod and Brendan Burke both signed, we feel we have excellent goaltending depth for the future.”
